Tuesday was a nothing day. Went to the store to pick up a few things for dinner,and the post office to mail the parking ticket. Had a nice Steak Dinner and got ready to move on. Wendesday was finally getting to Florida to see my big brothers and sister in laws. Went through Mississippi, Alabama then finally into Florida. It was a little bit longer drive then we like but couldn't really find any place to stay for the night. It was a very interesting drive through the panhabdle seein a lot of damage from Hurricane Michael. I'd much rather have a snow storm. The damage was unreal. Unfortunetly I didn't have my phone ready for pictures for the houses down and the rest area. The campground we wanted to go to was closed til at least Sept. because of the Hurricane. It was a nice travel day. First time since we left that I didn't have shoes and socks on. If you know me you know how much I love my flip flops. I think finally for our last month of traveling

Finally made it to the French Quarter found a place to park. Not sure if we can park there because the Loading Zone sign is stupid but what the hell.  Walked around for a bit taking in the sights. Oh boy..Lots of strange people here. Of course we picked a day when there was no parades dammit. I din't think that was a possibility during Mardi Gras. Oh well. walked around checked out some stores. Of course had to hit a bar on Bourbon St for Bill to get a beer. We saw a guy scrubbing the sidewalk at on Bourbon St. I was going to ask him what he did for that punishment. Really Glad I didn't. Watching the news later on found out there was a shooting there at 3am so he was cleaning up the blood. EWWWW.. don't know if we will be back kinda scary. After walking around for a couple of hrs. we finally found the truck. Of course there was a parking ticket on it. $30 fine but still cheaper than parking in a lot somewhere. Well getting to the French Quarter takes a little over an hr and I hate going over the 24 mile causeway. I am better than the first time. I hardly took a breath then and white knuckles all the way. Now at least I can breathe. We like the french Quarter but we have never been there for Mardi Gras and probably won't go again. Way too many people and no where to park unless u have a ton of money. We drove around for quite a while and most of the parking lots were full and we didn't have any cash with us so we couldn't go to any of them. So we decide to come back tomorrow when hopefully it will be less busy. There are parades everywhere everyday all day so I'm sure we will catch one. Back over the causeway and checked out Mandeville. Looking for a nice restaurant to go to Tues. with Michelle. We have never really driven around so it was nice. The weather was great. Sunny and high 60s. We don't want to go back to Abita Springs for dinner been there quite a few

Friday Morning of course up early. Not alot happening today. Billy,Anna and the boys are leaving today.😢😢😢 Everyone was up by 8 Had breakfast and showers. Got the car packed and gone by 10. We had a great week. I Miss my family when I'm gone fore 3 months. So happy they decided to come to Texas and visit. wish the weather would have been better. After they left got the camper back to normal. I like abnormal sometimes. Got the laundry ready and got that done..Back by 1:30 so I decided to nap(love my naps). We wanted to go to a couple of grocery stores so decide we would go out to eat also. Went to H.E.B. picked up a couple of things. Wanted to go to 242 Pub and Grill for dinner. Looked like a nice place and checked the menu on google. I can find something to eat there so stopped there. Absolutley no where to park..Checked inside lots of tables empty but if u cant park no sense in staying. Bill didn't want to park on the road. Too busy for rush hr and construction. Off we go

Finally a nice sunny day to get out and see some of Texas. After finally everyone getting ready,takes awhile with six people, we headed out for the zoo about 11. takes a little over an hr to get there but today of course there was accidents so stuck in traffic for a bit. That's ok not really on any schedule. It a beautiful Zoo and a lot bigger than we thought for the price. The boys had a great time doing silly things that boys do. There was some things they could climb in with the fish and other animals.  We were there for at least three hrs. Lots of different animals that the Buffalo Zoo doesn't have It was a great day and so nice to see the sun shining. I actually took off my hoodie for most of the day. That hasn't happened much this whole trip. Hopefully warmer weather for the end of our trip. We headed to Applebbe's for dinner and again got stuck in massive traffic. Was suppose to take about an hr but it was more than 2. Applebee'

Well another crappy weather day in Texas. Rainy Windy and Chilly not even hitting 50 today. Sat around all morning trying to decide what to do. Finally decided on the Aquarium, indoors and warm.  After getting everybody ready we headed out about 12. Took over an hr to get there. So glad Anna figured out the picture thing. The aquarium was really nice. we could have got a pass to see the Aquarium, Stingray Reef and the rides which the boys would have enjoed but the weather wasn't cooperating again. So we skipped the rides. The Sting Ray Reef was really cool. Got to touch them and Bill bought some food to feed them It was really awesome. At one point the damn things decided to splash and guess who was standing there? Me of course. Got soaked. Had a good laugh. On to the Aquarium. Really nice. Not as big as the one in Niagara Falls but lots to see. At the end there is White Tiger exhibit. The boys really enjoyed that. We learned all about them just by asking

Here we all are at Waters Edge/Bishops Landing resort. A little chilly this morning. Nobody wants to get moving this morning. Suppose to go to Walmart and H.E.B. but thats not happening. My niece Laura and her kids are coming to visit so I need to be at the camper and who knows how long a walmart trip is going to take with 6 people so we decided to put it off til after Dinner. Just hung around here enjoying the sunshine and trying to stay out of the wind. The boys of course went to the playground and the clubhouse. Glad they are having fun. Laura, Emily and Jbo got here about 3:00 and I took the kids to the clubhouse to meet the boys. They got along great. Thank god because you never know with kids. The 5 of us just sat in the sun and gabbed for abit. I'm really glad we can come to Texas and see Laura. She does have a husband(I think), although I haven't met him yet. He's always out of town working when we are here. LOL Went to Golden Corral for Dinner because we all love

Well here I am again Finally.. Got to catch up on my blog. We got to Hideout Golf and Rv resort about 2ish. Wasn't easy to get to. I couldn't put the address in the GPS and we had no phone service so we had to resort to olden times and stop and ask for directions. Of course there was like three people giving me three different directions....I hate that.. I relied on the young man that had a map on his phone...Smart move on my part...finally found the place and there was another rv going in to check in..the girl was an idiot ..never took our names or checked us in. She gave me directions(not good ones) to the campground which was down the road but we couldn't go anywhere til the guy in front of us left so we made the mistake of following him. Well he went the wrong way so we had to turn around not easy to do with a camper but he was alot longer than we were so fortunetly found a good turnaround. Finally got there. Beautiful Place. Its a brand new campground and golf course

Well got up at 5:30 this morning a little late for me especially on a travel day. So not thinking I didn't  wake Bill up at 5:45 like I usually do on travel days. we like to leave around 7-7:30. WEll that didn't happen. He got up about 6:30. good thing we didn't need water for anything this morning it was 24 degrees out and everything was froze so after coffee and cereal BIll had to get out the little heater and thaw the water so we could pack it up. Took a little bit. After all is done and packed away finally on the road a little after 8. Had to stop for gas so we stooped at the THING..which is kinda a truck stop with a huge store. I just went in to the Dunkin for coffee. Yes Marge I Have all the time in the world to check out the store. LOL..but when we are going to the next place we like to get there at a reasonable time. That store is HUGE..I Could have have spent at least an hr in there. maybe next time. Nice sunny day and not much traffic til we got close to El Paso.

I got up early again..it's in the 40s and windy but we decided to go to tombstone anyway. Went to fill the propane and get some water first hoping it will warm up a little. Left for Tombstone about 11 for the half hr drive. Still chilly when we got there but the wind has died down a little. Found a good parking spot and walked down the street. Went into a couple of shops. Don't need anything I just like to look.  Took a walk through any older part of tombstone where they have a shoot out show didn't stay for that. But the view was awesome from here. I Hope you see my pics on facebook til I learn how to put them here. we say in the sun for a little bit to warm up. Its nice and warm in the sun. Went into the saloon for bit so Bill could have a beer. I love these old time towns. Walked around a bit more and more shops. OF course I bought myself some more clothes that I don't need a Tombstone t shirt and sweat shirt. If I keep this up I can probably wear a different shirt

Well we planned on going to Tombstone but again the weather didn't cooperate. Chilly with a threat of rain and again I was super tired. Took an early nap hoping the weather woild be better when I got up. didn't happen it got worse. So off to fill the propane tank at Tractor Supply to find out they don't fill them. Have to go to the Benson propane but its sunday. Oh well it can wait til tomorrow. Stopped at the safeway for eggs and milk. Well they had beef rsts. B1G2 free so of course we had to buy them seeing as we didn't know what we were doing for dinner. came home to try the rottiserie in the air fryer but I didn't get the piece for the spit. Not happy.. but we decided to just put it on the rack and it cooked up in about 1/2 hr. and it was great. Mashed potatoes veggies and a salad yummmy. I love my air fryer oven. Pillbury biscuits done in about 5 minutes. After dinner took a walk put the garbage in the dumpster and decided to check out the pool and clubhouse.

Stayed in Picacho Peak til about 10 am Chatted with Steve for a little while then headed out. Didn't need to leave early it was a liitle over an hr drive to Valley Vista in Benson Arizona. Got there about 11:30 got a nice 50 amp spot so we can use all the electric we want without me blowing the circuit breaker. I do that often when I turn on the coffee and both heaters are going. Oh well easily talen care of. Relaxed for a bit and for some reason I was super tired so I layed down for a bit. I hate when I'm that tired. Had my afternoon coffee then off to Walmart of course. Need to stock up Billy Anna and the boys are meeting us in Texas for a week. I'm so excited. Have to have Kids stuff in the camper. Then went to the Texaco station by the campground which has a nice deli and got some fried chicken for dinner. Its very good. French fries and coleslaw to go with it. After dinner went ot the clubhouse fr free wifi to figure out our route to Texas. Got that all set. made m

Up early usual but tats ok because its a travel day. going to Picacho Peak to see Steve. Nice sunny day again.  Easy drive. Love to see the mountains with all the cactus growing on them. Got to Picacho about 11:00. Steve met us at the entrance and showed us to our spot. Its really nice here. Our spot had a little brick patio with a fence. Got all set up and of course Steve brought over the whiskey for hi and Bill. OH BOY!!! it s gonna be a great day. Sat around all afternoon catching up. I went for a walk to check things out and pay our bill. They have a beautiful pool and hot tub, nice big clubhouse, a cantina and a workout room.  Its all in one place surrounded by a fence. I think we might definitley be back again. Steve says theres lots to do near here. But we have to make our way to Texas. Steve made dinner for us. He had a small pork rst in the crockpot with potatoes and carrots. I heated some saurkraut to go with it. The Potatoes weren't done so Steve put them on to boil a

Not much to say today. It was a beautiful sunny day 60 degrees a little chilly but better than it has been. Did some laundry and just relaxed today. This is just a stopover on our way to picacho peak. Only going to be there for one nite just to stop and see our friend Steve. Went to golden Corral for Dinner. I love Golden Corral. First time there on this trip which is unusual but we really haven't had a chance to go there yet. Went early to take advantage of Lunch price but also get Dinner food. Then back home to soak up some sun and get ready to leave in the Morning. Most of the lettuce fields have been harvested since we were here a week or so ago. Plowed up and ready for the next planting. It is interesting to see how this works. Bus loads of people and port a pottys hooked on the back of the bus. Wish I could share the pictures. Tuesday was just another rainy day in California. Slept til 5:30 which is good for ma as you know. Didn't do much today. Went to walmart to get my medicine refilled and pick up a few things. Home to clean a little and take a nap. Not much else to do in the rain. Back to Walmart to pick up my medicine.  Diane and Larry brought dinner over(my camper has a bigger table to sit 4) Rst. beef sandwiches,salad, mashed potatoes and sugar free lemon cake. It was all delicious. then played a little Mexican Train for the last time for awhile. Wednesday was a travel. Diane and Larry are going up to San Francisco and we are going back to Yuma.It was so cold in the morning there was ice on my awning and it didn't roll in right. We really want ot leave so hope for the best on the road. Stopped after a bit at a truck stop to get the awning out for a minute to soak up some sun. It worked so now I can relax and not keep an eye on it. Slowly working our way back east. Don't want to get there

Well another rainy day in southern California..Not a good time to visit this year. Maybe try again next year. Can't do much in the rain so we decided to go to the Casino. I chose the closest one to us, Pechanga resort and Casino. Got there about noon decided to meet at he door at 2:00. This place was big. played ok won $5 over all. Bill and I met at the door and waited for Larry and Diane. To make a long story short they were lost. After a few phone calls they said they were at the food court so I set out to find them.  Big mistake.. made my way to the food court that was in a whole new gaming section I didn't see. They weren't there. Shocker....Called Larry again they were at the promotions booth. After aking a few employees we finally found each other. Went a whole different way back to Bill, another section I din't see. I thought I walked through the whole place. I guess not.  Finally left there about 2:30. More rain on the way home. Didn't really stop raining

Her I am again up early as usual. Didn't post anything Saturday because nothing to report. Very rainy day with some wind. Didn't do anything. Cleaned a little took a nap. We are on our own little island here when it rains. Water is a couple inches deep at the door to the camper. I didn't bring my hip boots.LOL  Larry and Diane did mange to get through the water to come and play Mexican Train. Super Bowl Sunday weather was a little better still some rain but only drizzles and chilly. Thank god the water around the camper goes down quick so we could go out. Went to walmart to pick up soe last minute snacks. Larry and Diane went to church so we met them for breakfast after. Got all my stuff ready for the game, video chatted with my kids and grandchildren. Its great that we can do that. I really miss them. Then I crashed on the couch for a bit. We had a great day yesterday. Weather was good. Chilly but the sun was shining. Left for Old Town San Diego about 10:00. Takes a little over an hr. Nice sunny drive. Went to the Visitor Center first very informative guy thats from the Bronx. Told us hes been to buffal and loved the wings of course. Then off to the train Museum. What a great place. wish I could post pics. Someday I'll figure it out. Anyway it was great to see the way it is all set up. Mountains all around, a baseball diamond with red white and blue fire works a drive in theater showing The Blob. Could have watched the whole movie if I wanted to. It was Steve McQeen's first movie. I remember seeing it long ago. All in all it was great place. Basically just walked down the street went into some of the stores and of course bought stuff I don't need. Went to the Whaley House. Diane and I took the $8 tour. Suppose to be the most famous haunted house in America. But I think all the haunted places say that.

Well yesterday started out really nice..Then the rains came. We decided to go to the store to get our Super Bowl food. Can't do much else in the rain. We left when it was still nice out. Went to Albertsons.  Got all my Pizza stuff and my Texas Caviar stuff plus a couple of other things we needed. Diane got cheese and crackers and some munchies. I forgot I spent over an hour on the phone with direct tv to straighten out my bill and found out that as we move around all we havr to do is call them to get the major networks with the dish. we were told previously that we couldn't do that. Wish they would get their shit together. very aggravating when we can't get Tv with the antenna in most campgrounds. But now we are all set for the superbowl. The rain started when we left Albertsons. Not to bad just a little rain for now. Larry went to Ace hardware to get something for his grill. Then time to go home. Stopped at Mcdonalds for Dianes drink of course. Thats a must when we ar
